The 70ha Lagerstroemiatomentsa forest (in the project to expand the area to 300ha) was put under management since 1964, and still retains its natural beauty. The forest is a large family of Lagerstroemiatomentsa trees belonging to the Lagerstroemia family, scientific name is Lagerstroemiatomentsa Presl. The purple flowers usually bloom in the summer. If visitors come to visit in the summer, they will see this as a green valley filled with purple flowers. In the midst of the hot summer sun, when arriving here, visitors will feel like they are entering a completely different world, looking up at each ray of sunlight through the leaves as if the Milky Way was illuminating a peaceful and poetic mountainous countryside. On both sides of the road are rows of trees 30-40m high, standing tall as if challenging time, followed by trees 20-30m high, the second layer is lower trees, then thorny vines, and the last layer is grass, moss, and ferns. Standing in the middle of the forest, we can recognize some familiar trees, but there are many species of trees that even scientists do not know their names, because the species of plants in the forest (tropical) are countless, which is also why it attracts more foreign tourists to explore and do scientific research.

The mangrove forest in Tam Dinh - Tuong Duong. |
The Sang Le forest is like a talented painting by an invisible artist who has painstakingly sketched the majestic and soulful mountain forest scene. Even more beautiful are the proud orchids hidden on the high tree branches, making the natural picture even more vivid. Admiring the scenery here, we see that the seemingly wild beauty captivates people, encouraging people to love nature more. And we will find ourselves lost in the sounds of the mountains and forests, the colors of the grass, trees and flowers. The Sang Le forest is an ideal place for tourists to visit, camp, picnic,...
This forest has always maintained its original pristine beauty thanks to the spirit and responsibility of the people living around the forest. On the contrary, the lives of the people here are very peaceful because of the protection of the forest. In the hot summer, this forest is like a giant machine that regulates the climate. In the rainy season, floods often appear, but the people here are still peaceful because there is a forest that always protects when storms and floods come, prevents soil erosion and retains water resources for the local people. The life of the Thai people here is very emotional, frugal and hospitable. When entering the village, you will be invited by the people to stay and drink rice wine, immerse yourself in the familiar Xang Khan melody, freely admire the colorful costumes and the national cultural identity of the Thai girls, dance and sing around the flickering fire with the sound of gongs and drums. All will make visitors feel satisfied when living in the jubilant and vibrant atmosphere here.
To promote the effectiveness of this primeval forest, the People's Committee of Tuong Duong district is coordinating with Pu Mat National Park to develop a project to continue expanding this forest to over 300 hectares, and at the same time build an eco-tourism route in Pu Mat National Park, in which the Sang Le forest is an important destination, creating a recreational area for tourists in the summer. However, due to limited funding, this poetic and charming forest is still "potential", not invested in, especially infrastructure such as motels and services to turn it into an ideal resort, creating a large source of income for the locality.
