Industry and Trade sector deploys tasks in 2014

(Baonghean.vn) -On the afternoon of January 3, the Department of Industry and Trade held a conference to summarize the work of 2013 and deploy tasks for 2014. In 2013, the industrial production index increased by nearly 9% compared to the previous year, of which the mining industry decreased by nearly 21%; the processing and manufacturing industry increased by 8.28%; the production and distribution of electricity, gas, hot water, steam and air conditioning increased by 31%); water supply, waste and wastewater management and treatment activities increased by 6.03%. In terms of export, the total turnover for the year reached 624.383 million USD, exceeding the annual plan target by 35.7%, of which the export turnover of goods reached 344.369 million USD, an increase of 27.8% compared to 2012; labor export and foreign currency earning services reached 280.014 million USD. Along with that, the Market Management Department has strengthened inspection and control in key areas and focal points in the province, detecting and strictly handling subjects trading in smuggled foreign goods and prohibited goods in the market. Market management has limited smuggling, counterfeit goods and trade fraud, contributing to stabilizing the market situation, creating conditions for production development and protecting consumer rights.

Speaking at the conference, comrade Huynh Thanh Dien highly appreciated the achievements of the industry in the past year; at the same time, he requested the industry to continue implementing solutions to control inflation; review and supplement plans, policies, programs, and projects for industrial and commercial development. Strengthen state management of industrial and commercial activities. Implement coordination regulations between provincial and local departments and branches in directing, operating and urging the inspection of the implementation of tasks of the 2014 program plan...

The conference also approved the decision to approve the master plan for the goods distribution network and the development plan for the liquefied petroleum gas and oil business network in the province up to 2020, with a view to 2025; at the same time, the Emulation and Reward Committee of the Provincial People's Committee and the Department of Industry and Trade presented titles to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in 2013.
