Chau Kim Commune (Que Phong) organizes Long Tong festival

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of January 25, Chau Kim Commune (Que Phong) held the long tong (going to the fields) festival in Do village.

The festival begins with a ceremony to worship the gods performed by prestigious people in the village, praying for a new year of favorable weather, good crops, and for people to unite and compete in labor production, building a prosperous life and a prosperous homeland.

In 2013, Chau Kim commune had a successful winter-spring crop and summer-autumn crop, many production models were effectively implemented such as the model of converting rice land to sugarcane with an area of ​​13.5 hectares, the model of specializing in clean cabbage, the model of rice production using deep-dug fertilizer pellets... agricultural mechanization was promoted. The annual sowing area reached 100% of the target of the Commune People's Council Resolution, the average total food output reached 2,741 tons. Livestock development was quite good with many models being replicated such as the model of raising chickens in batches, raising breeding sows.

This is the third year that Chau Kim commune has organized the Long Tong festival at the commune level to preserve and conserve the traditional cultural features of the local people. At the end of the ceremony, the leaders and people of the commune went to the fields to plant the first rows of rice seedlings to encourage people to compete in labor production.
