Vinh City organizes Tet (Lunar New Year) celebrations for underprivileged children.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of January 25th, the People's Committee of Vinh City, in coordination with the Nghe An Provincial Children's Protection Fund and the Vinh City Fatherland Front Committee, organized a Lunar New Year celebration for disadvantaged children and poor people in 2014.

Its function and mission is to mobilize resources from the generosity of organizations and individuals to help disadvantaged children with disabilities, provide heart surgery for poor children, and perform cleft lip and palate surgery, etc.

In 2013, the Nghe An Provincial Children's Protection Fund raised over 22 billion VND, with over 3 billion VND raised during Tet (Lunar New Year) 2014 alone. With this money, the Nghe An Provincial Children's Protection Fund presented gifts to 60 children in extremely difficult circumstances in Vinh City, each gift consisting of 300,000 VND and a carton of TH milk.

On this occasion, the Vinh City Fatherland Front Committee also presented 10 Tet gifts to poor households and those facing sudden difficulties. With the sharing and support of Party committees, government agencies, and the community, poor people and children in difficult circumstances in Vinh City will be able to celebrate the traditional Tet holiday of the Year of the Horse more joyfully and warmly.
