Workshop on the contributions of comrade Nguyen Huu Doi to his homeland

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of February 24, Quynh Luu District Party Committee held a workshop on the great contributions of comrade Nguyen Huu Doi, former Secretary of Quynh Luu District Party Committee, to the development of his homeland and country.

In his opening speech, Comrade Nguyen Van Thang - Secretary of Quynh Luu District Party Committee stated: “Over 46 years of continuous training and working in many different fields, in both favorable and difficult conditions, Comrade Nguyen Huu Doi has always set a shining example of a communist soldier, excellently completing the tasks assigned by the Party, State and people. He is a leader with political courage, decisive and bold personality, daring to think, daring to do, daring to take responsibility. He is a man of work and always oriented towards the grassroots”.

The content of the presentations at the conference focused on clarifying a number of issues about the life and career of comrade Nguyen Huu Doi.

The reports all emphasized: the great contributions of the comrade were shown and recognized through the revolutionary periods of the Party Committee and the people of Quynh Luu district. Especially in the period of 1961 - 1978, together with the Standing Committee, the District Administrative Committee, with the motto "mo rice and eggplant with the heart of communism, the whole district joined hands to build irrigation works", the policy "The State and the people work together", the whole district built Binh Son drainage canal, 86 irrigation works, many works of national scale such as Vuc Mau reservoir, 3/2 dam, An Ngai dam creating hundreds of millions of cubic meters of water.³Water serves production for thousands of hectares of agricultural land with two sure-fire rice crops, giving high and stable yields. In the work of planning fields, settling down, and settling down, nearly 2,100 households have been mobilized to migrate to mountainous communes of the district and nearly 1,000 households have been mobilized to migrate to mountainous districts of Nghe An.

In the 1970s, Quynh Luu achieved a total food output of 52,072 tons. Many typical examples reached 6 tons/ha, an achievement that many other places could hardly achieve. Along with promoting production, under the leadership of comrade Nguyen Huu Doi and the Trade Committee, the Party Committee, government, army and people of Quynh Luu district fiercely fought back against the bombings of American aircraft, achieved many great feats, and contributed human and material resources to liberate the South and unify the country. The cadres, people, armed forces of the district, along with 16 collectives and 15 individuals, were awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces by the State. After 1975, the whole country was unified, Quynh Luu was chosen by the Central Government as a model for building a district-level economic model.

As Secretary of the District Party Committee, he directed the implementation of many revolutionary movements in line with the people's wishes; was the initiator of the movement "The State and the people work together"; with the determination to "Change the sky and the earth, rearrange the country", he mobilized people to contribute their efforts and money to build many works serving production and social security. Quynh Luu was like a large construction site. Thanks to that, the economy developed, the material and spiritual life of the people was improved, many important works were built, promoting economic efficiency and noble humanistic meaning to this day.

Comrade Nguyen Huu Doi's great contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party Committee and the people of Quynh Luu have been affirmed by history and engraved in the minds of every Quynh Luu resident. With his merits and achievements, the Standing Committee of the Quynh Luu District Party Committee proposed to the Provincial Emulation and Reward Council to consider and propose the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to posthumously award the title of Hero of Labor to Comrade Nguyen Huu Doi.
