Every day, 1,000-3,000 people come to visit General Vo Nguyen Giap.
According to a report from the People's Committee of Quang Binh province, every day, 1,000-3,000 people visit the tomb of General Vo Nguyen Giap, of which about 90% are from outside Quang Binh province. Therefore, opening a bus route will create favorable conditions for people to travel and ensure traffic safety.
According to the Ministry of Transport, the proposal to open a bus route in Quang Binh province is also consistent with the previous proposal of Vietnam Railways Corporation, contributing to connecting transport modes and creating conditions for the development of transport modes.
The bus route from Dong Hoi station to the tomb of General Vo Nguyen Giap has a route that passes through the main traffic routes of Dong Hoi city and is located entirely within Quang Binh province. Therefore, when put into operation, in addition to serving the needs of tourists well, it also contributes to meeting the daily travel needs of the people of this province, contributing to reducing traffic congestion and traffic accidents, in accordance with the Government's Resolution on the Project to develop public passenger transport by bus in the period from 2012-2020.
The Ministry of Transport requests the People's Committee of Quang Binh province to direct the Department of Transport and relevant departments and agencies to guide the organization of bus routes, ensure traffic safety and comply with the conditions for automobile transport businesses. In cases where there are already bus routes in operation with routes that overlap with many planned routes as above, it is possible to consider adjusting the routes and starting and ending points of the operating routes, ensuring stable and effective operation.
Previously, taking note of many suggestions from the people, Minister Dinh La Thang directed the Vietnam Railway Corporation to research and build a station leading to the tomb of General Vo Nguyen Giap to serve the travel and visit activities of the General. The Vietnam Railway Corporation said that this unit is researching and will soon have a plan to build a railway line in a suitable location.
