Expanded Immunization Conference 2013

(Baonghean.vn) - Nghe An Department of Health has just organized the 2013 Expanded Immunization Conference. Doctor Bui Dinh Long - Director of the Department of Health and Doctor Nguyen Xuan Hong - Deputy Director of the Department of Health chaired the conference.

Also attending the conference were leaders of the Provincial Center for Preventive Medicine, General Hospital; Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital; and District Medical Center.

Vaccination briefing

The whole province currently has 586 vaccination sites, of which: 543 sites meet vaccination safety conditions; 43 sites do not meet vaccination safety conditions, of which Ky Son and Do Luong districts have the highest rate of unqualified conditions. The results of inspection and examination according to Directive No. 01 dated January 18, 2013 of the Ministry of Health on strengthening vaccination safety and monitoring post-vaccination reactions and Decision 3029 dated August 21, 2013 of the Minister of Health show that at some vaccination sites, vaccine storage facilities still have shortcomings such as: anti-shock boxes are not complete, not in accordance with regulations; some vaccines for children are missing according to the schedule; many vaccination officers have not been trained and issued certificates of completion of vaccination safety training courses in the past 3 years; some units do not have freezers to serve as cold storage for vaccines...

At the conference, grassroots health units also proposed solutions: It is necessary to request the authorities at all levels to support funding for the health sector to build facilities for health stations and vaccination points to ensure good professional activities; It is necessary to strengthen the direction and guidance on the preservation and use of vaccines and medical biological products in prevention and treatment at affiliated units; Organize training on regulations on safe vaccination; Also at the conference, the Department of Health deployed a plan to inject Quinvaxem vaccine to ensure safety in expanded vaccination, ensuring that subjects are fully vaccinated on schedule, and at the same time, overcome existing problems in vaccination work to ensure safety for vaccinated subjects... Only qualified vaccination points with a decision of recognition signed by the Director of Nghe An Department of Health are allowed to organize vaccination.
