Yen Thanh District People's Committee responds to people's feedback
(Baonghean) - Nghe An Newspaper, issue dated December 3, 2013, in the Hotline Information section, posted information from residents of Hamlet 5, Tang Thanh Commune (Yen Thanh) reporting: "In Hamlet 5, Tang Thanh Commune, there is a household producing toxic chemicals. Wastewater released during the production process has affected crops and the living environment of residents of Hamlet 7 and Hamlet 5."
Yen Thanh District People's Committee has assigned specialized departments and Tang Thanh Commune People's Committee to inspect, verify, handle the matter and report the results. On December 18, 2013, Yen Thanh District People's Committee issued Official Dispatch No. 1658/UBND in response to the report as follows:
Around the end of November 2013, at the house of Mrs. Nguyen Thi Dien in Hamlet 5, Tang Thanh Commune, a facility was being established to decant floor cleaner, glass cleaner, and toilet cleaner, owned by Mr. Duong Van Hoang (permanent resident in Hamlet 5, Tang Thanh Commune, Yen Thanh District). During the process of gathering raw materials and preparing for production, an accident occurred in the container containing raw materials, which were chemicals used for mixing, causing it to spill into the garden and drainage ditches of the residential area, affecting the environment.
Checking the production activities of the facility, the owner of the production facility could not present the operating license documents, as well as the origin of the chemical materials gathered at the facility. Yen Thanh District People's Committee made a record requesting the owner of the facility to stop all production activities without being granted an operating license by the competent authority. At the same time, Tang Thanh Commune People's Committee was assigned to organize the supervision of the owner's compliance with the above request.
Yen Thanh District People's Committee responded to the feedback via Nghe An Newspaper's hotline and will closely monitor to prevent the above phenomenon from happening again.
