Cambodian Prime Minister pledges to maintain peace and stability
On February 10, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen pledged to continue maintaining peace and political stability, affirming that these are basic factors for the country's socio-economic development.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony of students of the National University of Management, Prime Minister Hun Sen emphasized that the Cambodian Government will not allow any reactionary forces to "take the country hostage," and affirmed that all state institutions, including the House of Representatives, the Senate, the Government and the monarchy, have been operating stably so far despite the opposition boycotting the National Assembly after the general election in July 2013.

Cambodia is facing a political crisis related to the results of the above general election, according to which the ruling Cambodian People's Party (CPP) won 68 seats and the opposition Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP) won 55 seats in the National Assembly. CNRP accused of fraud and did not accept the voting results and boycotted the new National Assembly.
The opposition party also organized protests demanding Prime Minister Hun Sen's resignation and new elections. However, Prime Minister Hun Sen affirmed that he would not resign and would not hold new elections.
CPP and CNRP leaders met twice in September 2013 to resolve political disagreements, but no agreement was reached./.
