(Baonghean.vn) -The Dien Bien Phu Campaign Command Headquarters, located in the old forest at the foot of Pu Don mountain, Muong Phang commune, Dien Bien district, Dien Bien province, was the most important nerve center of the historic Dien Bien Phu campaign.
Here, General Vo Nguyen Giap, along with the campaign command, issued decisive attack orders that led to the victory of each battle, culminating in the general offensive across the entire front, resulting in the resounding victory on May 7, 1954. Sixty years have passed, but the image of General Vo Nguyen Giap lives on in the hearts of the people of Muong Phang. The forest where the campaign command post was located is affectionately called "General's Forest" by the locals. Every day, groups of visitors from all over the country and internationally come to visit this historical site.
