Continue to support and help poor communes with special difficulties
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of December 20, 2013, the Steering Committee for supporting and helping poor communes met under the chairmanship of comrade Le Xuan Dai, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to evaluate the results of 2013 and deploy tasks for 2014.
After 2 years of implementing Decision 1310/QD-UBND of the Provincial People's Committee, 86 agencies and units assigned to support and help 89 poor communes in the western region of Nghe An have made many efforts to overcome difficulties and implement, initially bringing practical results.
In addition to material support such as building houses, schools, medical stations, clean water facilities, cultural houses, supporting production equipment, providing books and newspapers, visiting and giving gifts, supporting breeding cows, pigs, chickens, etc., many units also provide training to raise awareness, examine and treat diseases, build and replicate economic development models, guide the poor in raising livestock and growing crops, and proactively promote production. The total value of support from provincial agencies and departments in 2 years is over 36 billion VND.
Units such as: Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, Provincial Political School, College of Economics and Technology, Department of Agriculture, Department of Health, Department of Science and Technology, Vinh City People's Committee, Border Guard, Provincial Military Command, Nghe An Newspaper, Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Provincial People's Committee, etc. have had effective ways of doing things.
Concluding the conference, comrade Le Xuan Dai noted that supporting and helping the especially disadvantaged communes in the western districts of Nghe An is a policy of the province with profound political and social significance, requiring members of the steering committee and the standing agency to arrange and allocate time to perform assigned tasks well; promptly guide units to help with responsibility and heart, only then can the set goals be achieved. At the same time, he directed units to proactively establish a steering committee, develop a practical and effective support plan, on the basis of doing a good job of integrating and coordinating and implementing a timely reporting regime.
