Con Cuong: 385 units of blood collected from voluntary blood donations.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of May 9th, at the Con Cuong District Cultural and Information Center, the Nghe An Provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation organized the launching ceremony for the 2014 humanitarian blood donation campaign. Nearly 1000 people registered to participate in the voluntary blood donation ceremony, including a large number of youth union members, along with officials, employees, teachers, students, and members of the armed forces in the district.

With the motto "Every drop of blood donated saves a life," many volunteers have readily donated their warm blood to those in need. This year, Con Cuong district has done a good job of promoting blood donation through various channels such as local radio broadcasts, leaflets, posters, and through volunteers directly disseminating information at the grassroots level. Furthermore, the district's early preparation for the blood donation drive has attracted people from all walks of life to register for blood donation. Among them are many people from remote and border communes such as Binh Chuan, Lang Khe, Chau Khe, Thach Ngan, and Mon Son.

During this blood donation drive, the organizing committee collected 385 units of blood from 790 registered donors, exceeding the target by 183 units. Ms. Kha Thi Tim, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Con Cuong District and Head of the Steering Committee for Blood Donation in Con Cuong District, said: "People have also grasped the information and raised community awareness about donating blood to save lives. As a result, a large number of people, officials, and Party members participated in this blood donation drive."
