Railway industry reduces ticket prices to serve students

Students taking exams and enrolling in universities and colleges and their accompanying relatives receive a 10% discount on ticket prices.

According to the announcement of Vietnam Railway Corporation, each student's exam notice is entitled to buy 1 discounted ticket and 1 additional discounted ticket for accompanying relatives (if any) for 1 outbound and 1 return trip.

With the admission notice, students can buy 1 discounted ticket for 1 trip and buy 1 additional discounted ticket for a relative traveling with them.

When purchasing discounted tickets, students must present: ID card or student card with exam notice (for students taking exams) and ID card or student card with admission notice (for students enrolling).

The program is valid from June 1 to October 31, 2014.

Mr. Thai Van Truyen, Deputy Head of Saigon Station, said that to meet the increased travel demand during the summer and exam season of students, the Railway industry will operate additional train SN4/3 during the summer of 2014.

In addition to the regular daily passenger trains, Saigon Railway Passenger Transport Company organizes additional SN4/SN3 trains from Ho Chi Minh City to Nha Trang and vice versa according to the schedule of SN4 train running from Ho Chi Minh City from May 29 to August 2 and SN3 train running from Nha Trang from May 30 to August 3.

In addition, based on passenger demand and vehicle capacity, when passenger flow increases, Vietnam Railway Corporation and Saigon Railway Passenger Transport Company will set up additional trains and add more carriages on routes to serve passengers.
