AIA Vietnam: Donating 50 bicycles to poor children overcoming difficulties

(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of April 3, at the Vinh City Convention Center, AIA Vietnam Life Insurance Company in collaboration with the Nghe An Province Children's Fund launched the "Real Life Journey" program with the aim of raising funds to buy bicycles for poor students, helping them shorten the distance to school for a brighter future.

Attending the event were representatives of the Vietnam Children's Fund; the Department of Road and Railway Traffic Police (Ministry of Public Security); the Provincial Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs; the Provincial Children's Fund and leaders of the Vinh City People's Committee.

Before the program, delegates, officers, employees and agents of AIA Vietnam came to offer flowers in memory of Uncle Ho's statue at Ho Chi Minh Square. Following the cycling parade through the main streets in the center of Vinh City to promote traffic safety and call for help for poor children, AIA Vietnam presented 50 bicycles and gifts worth nearly 100 million VND to poor children in Nghe An province.

Mr. Stephen Clark - General Director of AIA Vietnam said: "Journey of Life" is a series of fundraising cycling events organized by AIA Vietnam in 12 provinces and cities across the country from North to South. Since its launch, AIA Vietnam employees and agents have enthusiastically participated in the program by voluntarily contributing money to buy bicycles to achieve the goal of at least 750 bicycles (worth 1.7 million VND/bicycle) to give to disadvantaged children in Vietnam in 2014.
