Coming to Block 4 - Cua Nam Ward today, I could see the warm and joyful atmosphere of the people in the block. That joy is not only because the lives of the majority of people have improved, but also because every day the people of Block 4 always live in the solidarity of religions and non-religious people, in the harmonious feelings that the block executive committee here has worked hard to build and nurture. Block 4 has 143 households, of which 47 households are Catholic. In the block, all people from old to young, regardless of religion, always unite to help each other in times of difficulty and adversity.

Previously, Block 4 was known as an "address" where outsiders did not dare to "come near" at night, because this was a hot spot for security and order in the city. However, up to now, in the area of the block, there are no more drug addicts, no more troublemakers, no hidden social evils. In particular, the Catholic and non-Catholic people are united, wholeheartedly building a civilized block. Mr. Truong Van Long - Block Leader said: "To keep the people safe, we always put the issue of religious policy first, always proactively and actively in propaganda work for parishioners, and care for poor parishioners". Last year, with the consensus of the Ward Party Committee, the Block 4 Executive Committee supported parishioner Nguyen Van Thien with 18 million VND, helping him open a mechanical workshop to stabilize his life and gradually escape poverty. In addition, they also regularly care about the lives of 2 poor parishioners, Mrs. Tran Thi Ngai and Mr. Nguyen Van Thin. During Christmas and Lunar New Year, there are gifts and practical support, both material and spiritual...
This achievement is thanks to the consensus of the block executive committee and the activeness in building the great national unity bloc. In particular, the ward Fatherland Front has promoted the advantage of the role of Head of the Block Fatherland Front Subcommittee in uniting the parishioners. Mr. Nguyen Van Lan - Head of the Block Fatherland Front Subcommittee 4 said: "As a parishioner and a "leg" in the tripod of the block, I am always aware that I must be a devout Christian and must be aware of building a civilized block for the parishioners to follow. Therefore, the policies of the Party and the State are fully complied with by the people of Block 4".
Like Block 4, Block 6A has achieved remarkable results in recent years. The block executive committee has taken initiatives in establishing a security and order team to regularly patrol and block points at points considered "hot spots" on the roads within the block to promptly prevent theft, which used to happen frequently. In addition, the block executive committee has also established a mediation team to successfully resolve conflicts and disputes among the people. Mr. Nguyen Xuan Minh, Block Leader of Block 6A, said: "Last year, we successfully reconciled the conflict between Mr. Nguyen Van Dong and Mr. Tran Ngoc Hoan, which many times the ward level could not reconcile. This result was achieved thanks to the role of the Fatherland Front of the block, because without the ability to persuade of the Block Mediation Board, this case would certainly have dragged on forever." Block 6A is also the home of Cau Ram Parish, but in recent years, the Block Executive Committee has had creative ways to unite and build a good religious life, regularly maintain contact with parish priests, and care about the spiritual and material life of religious people.
During the past term, the Fatherland Front of Cua Nam ward has closely followed the action program, implemented the Resolution of the Party Committee and the Resolution of the Fatherland Front at all levels to coordinate with the government and organizations to organize many practical propaganda activities, suitable for many diverse and rich contents and forms. The result of gathering members to date has reached from 84% to 100%. The whole ward has 150 households and 755 people who are Catholics belonging to Cau Ram Parish and thousands of Buddhists and Buddhists living at Can Linh Pagoda. In recent years, the religious situation in the area has many potential complications, but thanks to timely grasp, coordination with dignitaries, officials and functional agencies, the Fatherland Front of the ward has skillfully mobilized to ensure consensus among religious people. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Vinh said: "In order to have a close connection between the government and religious people and build a solid great unity bloc, the Fatherland Front of the ward, in addition to advising and supporting poor Catholic households, has mobilized outstanding Catholics to hold the position of Head of the Fatherland Front Subcommittee so that they can firmly grasp the situation in the area, thereby having accurate advisory programs."
During the past term, the ward Fatherland Front has propagated and mobilized people to effectively implement the movement "All people protect national security" and participate in preventing and combating crimes and social evils, contributing to maintaining political security - social order and safety in the area. In the past 5 years, 18 progressive subjects have been educated and reformed; drug rehabilitation has been organized, drug rehabilitation records have been established for 144 drug addicts; 2 drug-free models have been built, of which block 4 and block 6A are typical examples.
In addition, the promotion of internal resources to build infrastructure is also focused on by the Fatherland Front at all levels. During the past term, the whole ward has built 32,515m2 of new internal concrete roads, 8,015m of drainage ditches... Visiting block 15 when the internal concrete road project had just been completed. Block 15 has 280 households, more than 80% of whom are laborers, with an income of only about 2-3 million VND/month. A few years ago, all internal roads were muddy when it rained, and everyone wanted to repair the roads to facilitate travel, but unfortunately no household had enough money to contribute. Therefore, the Executive Committee had the initiative to collect from 100,000 to 150,000 VND per household every month, depositing it in the bank. After 5 years, the whole block had nearly 1 billion VND, plus the State's support for cement, the executive committee and people in the block completed the construction of 1,400m of road, 3.5 - 5.5m wide. In addition, the project to celebrate the 50th founding anniversary of Vinh City was also completed on time in block 11 with a total value of more than 543 million VND, of which nearly 400 million VND was mobilized from the people.
Along with the solidarity to promote democracy, well implementing the policies of the Party and the State, in the past term, the Fatherland Front of Cua Nam ward has united to help each other, the whole ward has supported the construction of the "Repaying gratitude" Fund with more than 279 billion VND, supported the repair of 18 gratitude houses, and donated 21 savings books to poor and policy families in the area. In blocks 15 and 4, there have been practical action programs such as mobilizing support to build gratitude houses for 4 households in especially difficult circumstances, each house worth 40-75 million VND. Member organizations such as the Association of War Veterans and the Women's Union of the ward have taken on the responsibility, guaranteed the trust, and established a project to borrow capital from the Social Policy Bank with a total amount of more than 17 billion VND for 482 policy households to develop the economy to escape poverty and support students to study. In addition, the Veterans Association and the Women's Union have also proactively encouraged members to establish savings and credit groups with a total mobilized amount of nearly VND 3.526 billion in 5 years for more than 235 members to borrow. Typically, the Women's Union of Block 15 has members saving VND 50-100 thousand each month, and at the end of the year, they open a savings jar with about VND 30-40 million, lending to the most disadvantaged members without interest.
Such achievements are thanks to the consensus and participation of the entire political system, in which the Fatherland Front at all levels plays the role of a bridge between the Party's will and the people's hearts. The Fatherland Front of the ward has effectively implemented patriotic emulation movements and campaigns in the area, especially the campaign "All people unite to build a cultural life in residential areas", the campaign "Day for the Poor", actively contributing to the successful implementation of political - social tasks, national defense - security, building a strong Party, government and political system of the ward.
