DIt is expected that during the Lunar New Year 2014, the number of passengers will increase, with peak days at Vinh Bus Station and Vinh Market Bus Station having about 500 trips/day with over 15,000 passengers. Mr. Le Hong Vinh - Deputy Director of the Department of Transport, Head of the Steering Committee for Passenger Transport Services during the Tet Holiday and the Giap Ngo Spring Festival 2014 said: "The Transport sector focuses on serving people traveling before the Lunar New Year and the Giap Ngo Spring Festival from January 15 to January 30 (from December 15 to 30 of the year of the Snake) and after the Lunar New Year from February 1 to 15 (from January 2 to 16 of the year of the Horse) with the goal: Ensuring satisfaction of the travel needs of people in the area before, during and after the Lunar New Year. The number of passengers on some routes increases 4-5 times compared to normal days, mainly concentrated at Vinh Bus Station and Vinh Market Bus Station. To ensure the rights of passengers, Nghe An Bus Station Joint Stock Company has signed a commitment with vehicle owners not to violate regulations on passenger transport, such as forcing passengers to take high-priced tickets, transferring passengers along the way, and ensuring good security and order... Mr. Phan Huu Man - Chairman of Binh Minh Passenger Transport Cooperative said: "Binh Minh Cooperative has 121 fixed-route passenger transport vehicles, of which 51 vehicles operate inter-provincial routes and pick up and drop off passengers at 13 bus stations in the province. To meet the travel needs of passengers during the Lunar New Year, the Cooperative has implemented a very specific plan to serve the New Year, which is to ensure safety, sell tickets in accordance with regulations... The time for vehicles and bus stations to close for the Lunar New Year is from 3:00 p.m. on the 30th of the Lunar New Year to the end of the 1st day of the Lunar New Year. Vinh Bus Station and Vinh Market Bus Station will arrange 1-2 reserve passenger vehicles to serve the Tet holiday. After Tet, from 5:00 a.m. on the 2nd day of the Lunar New Year, the bus stations will operate to serve vehicles running on routes within Nghe An province, inter-provincial routes to Ha Tinh, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Thanh Hoa, Hue, Da Nang and Hanoi. On the 3rd day of the Lunar New Year, the bus stations will operate normally to serve all fixed routes within and outside the province.
