(Baonghean.vn) - During the annual meeting between the Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Lao Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the Lao delegation visited TH Group and the Song Sao irrigation dam project.
Attending the visit and working program were representatives from the Office of the Lao Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the Department of Animal Husbandry and Crop Production under the Ministry, and leaders of several related agencies and departments. On the Vietnamese side were Mr. Le Quoc Doanh, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, and leaders of affiliated agencies. On the Nghe An province side were Mr. Ho Ngoc Sy, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Director of the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, and leaders of relevant agencies and units.

In Nghia Dan district, the delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of the Lao People's Democratic Republic visited the clean milk production line, the raw material fields using modern machinery for harvesting and processing feed for cows, and the automated cow milking area, etc. Here, the leaders of TH Group introduced the delegates to the scale of the group's dairy project as well as its development direction in the coming time.

This is a large-scale clean milk project with 137,000 dairy cows and a total investment of US$1.2 billion, featuring a fully modern, closed-loop system using leading-edge technology. Phase one, costing US$350 million, was completed in July 2012, encompassing a modern farm system with a total herd of 45,000 cows, including 30,000 dairy cows, along with a modern processing plant with a capacity of 500 tons per day. By 2017, the project is expected to have 137,000 cows and a processing plant with a capacity of 500 million liters per year. This project applies the world's most advanced scientific and technical methods in large-scale dairy farming and processing.

On the same day, the delegation visited the Song Sao irrigation project. Built in 1999, the Song Sao irrigation project has a water surface area of 860 hectares, a capacity of 51 million cubic meters of water, serving irrigation for 6,600 hectares of agricultural land in the downstream area and providing water for the TH Group's dairy project.
