Hong Thanh Commune: 20 years of construction and growth

(Baonghean) - Hong Thanh Commune (Yen Thanh) was established in 1994. Over the past 20 years, the Party Committee of Hong Thanh Commune has always maintained the title of "Clean and Strong Party Committee", including 4 years of "Excellent Strength".

These results were achieved thanks to the determination of the leadership and close direction of the Standing Committee, the Party Executive Committee with the affiliated Party cells and the entire political system of the commune in implementing the Resolution of the Commune Party Congress and the directives and resolutions of the Central Committee, the Provincial Party Committee and the District Party Committee on Party building work. Thanks to that, 100% of Party cells maintained a good monthly regular activity regime. Through Party cell activities, criticism and self-criticism within the Party were carried out democratically and publicly, and the work of developing Party members was given importance; Political and ideological education work was given attention by the Party Committee. The Party's directives and resolutions, the State's policies and laws were deployed to each Party cell, cadre, Party member and the masses, raising the awareness of self-reliance, promoting the patriotic emulation movement, and promoting the implementation of socio-economic goals. For many years, the commune has created conditions for officials to attend training classes. Up to now, 100% of civil servants have university or college degrees, and 80% have intermediate political qualifications or higher.

In addition, the commune regularly promotes ideological education for cadres and Party members. Set an example in studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh. In the 2-year review of the implementation of Directive 03 on Studying and Following the Moral Example of Ho Chi Minh, Hong Thanh commune had many collectives and individuals honored and awarded certificates of merit by the province and district such as: Association of the Elderly, Association of Veterans, Women's Association and many other individual titles... Regularly leading and directing the good performance of reporters and periodic Party activities to inform the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws. From there, raising awareness in all aspects for cadres, party members, union members, and association members in leading socio-economic development, building a strong Party and government. From those practical actions, Hong Thanh commune received high consensus among the people, which is also the greatest success that Hong Thanh commune has achieved.

That success is the strength of the great national unity, the solidarity between Catholics and Protestants. In agriculture, Hong Thanh is not favored by nature, so the commune has focused on transforming the structure of crops and livestock and focused on solving two major problems: expanding the area of ​​high-quality winter vegetables and making livestock farming the main production industry. Thanks to training in science and technology and support from the program, Hong Thanh is confident and proactive in introducing high-quality rice varieties, receiving a 40-hectare model field, yielding nearly 8 tons/ha; currently the commune has 18 farms, bringing garden barns to the fields with fish-rice-duck farming models, raising dams, growing mushrooms... Since then, livestock farming has increased in quantity and quality in the direction of goods, with a herd of 460 buffaloes and cows, 22,550 poultry, and 1,125 pigs. Under the leadership of the Party Committee, the direction and management of the People's Committee and departments, branches and organizations, Hong Thanh commune has been implementing the correct direction and tasks set out in the Party Resolution, which is the harmonious and reasonable development between economic sectors on the basis of the actual potential of the locality to bring about increasingly high economic efficiency.

From this orientation, Hong Thanh commune is attracting many projects to build new rural areas such as building commercial areas, upgrading markets, cultural centers, etc. Promoting the achievements that have been achieved, in the coming time, along with completing the construction of the local economic development project, Hong Thanh will further promote land resources, labor resources, and take advantage of external resources to create a combined strength to soon turn Hong Thanh into a commune with stable and comprehensive development. Hong Thanh commune is not a typical commune for new rural construction, but out of 19 criteria, up to now the commune has achieved 14 criteria; land has been converted from many plots, now there are 1-2 plots/household, roads, schools, stations, clean water factories, etc. have been built spaciously, environmental work has been maintained, and centralized waste collection and treatment has been done, etc. This is the basis and important premise for the Party Committee and people of Hong Thanh to soon complete the National Program on New Rural Construction.

Comrade Nguyen Cong Luong - Chairman of the Commune People's Committee said: "To successfully implement the construction of the new rural area, first of all, we must make cadres, party members and people fully aware of the problem; must unify policies and actions; each person is a subject, directly contributing efforts and intelligence in all aspects to this long-term and challenging task".

In the midst of the "immediately needed" work, in 2014, the Party Committee and People's Committee of Hong Thanh commune led and directed rural traffic work. This is a very difficult task, because it involves many factors such as: land, environment, compensation, site clearance, power grid system... but up to now, 11 km has been cleared, 1,000 tons of cement has been received, 5 km of concrete has been poured and will focus on striving to achieve the "rural traffic" criteria this year. To complete the goal of building a new rural area in 2015, although there are still many difficulties and challenges, but with the strong leadership and direction of the Party Committee and the commune government, combined with the attention of superiors and the consensus of the people, we believe that Hong Thanh commune will complete the set goals.

20 years ago, the road to Hong Thanh commune was very difficult to travel because it was mainly a small, narrow dirt road, but today, there have been many changes: The provincial road of the commune was the first to be expanded, the village and hamlet roads were concreted and clean, hundreds of spacious, spacious high-rise buildings were located close together, in the bustling commercial and service town... the movement to build a cultural commune was associated with the campaign "All people unite to build a cultural life in residential areas". People build a cultural lifestyle, work hard, do not commit social evils, and follow the village's conventions and covenants well. 100% of households and hamlets registered to build a Cultural Village and a Cultural Family, which is the basis for people to feel secure in working and producing. With the persistent efforts of the Party Committee and people in the commune, the Party Committee of Hong Thanh commune has continuously achieved clean and strong status, including 4 years of "Excellently Strong", the government, the front and the mass organizations have achieved comprehensively clean and strong status. The average income per capita reached 22 million VND/person/year. The number of poor households is 3.7%. The kindergarten has achieved National Standard level 1; the primary school has maintained the title of National Standard, the commune has achieved Health standards. The new rural area has achieved 14/19 criteria and the commune is striving to reach the finish line by 2015.
