Doctor disciplined for refusing the position of deputy director of the department.
On July 29, a source reported that the Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Thuan province had issued a disciplinary warning to Dr. Ho Phi Long, Director of Nam Binh Thuan General Hospital (Duc Linh district).
Doctor Long was disciplined for failing to comply with the provincial People's Committee's decision on his transfer and appointment.
Previously, on January 10th, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Thuan province issued a decision appointing Mr. Ho Phi Long as Deputy Director of the Department of Health. However, Mr. Long submitted a letter requesting not to accept the position. According to Dr. Long, the reason is that he wants to stay in Duc Linh district to take care of his mother (who is elderly and suffers from many illnesses).
According to the People's Committee of Binh Thuan province, the reason for the disciplinary action of issuing a warning to Dr. Long (previously, the Disciplinary Council of the Provincial People's Committee had recommended a reprimand) was that, in his role as the head of the Party committee and administration at the hospital, he failed to comply with the transfer decision of his superiors.
This behavior, as stipulated in the Law on Cadres and Civil Servants and its guiding documents, is subject to disciplinary action in the form of a warning.
