Arrested for illegally crossing the border, a group of Chinese nationals suddenly grabbed guns and attacked officers at the Bac Phong Sinh Border Gate Control Station in Quang Ninh.

Quang Ninh electronic information portal reported in detail: At 4:20 a.m. on April 18, 2014, a group of 16 Chinese people, including 10 men, 4 women and 2 children, illegally entered Vietnam through the Bac Phong Sinh border gate (Hai Ha district, Quang Ninh province). On their way deep into the interior, they were discovered, arrested and escorted to the border gate by Vietnamese authorities to carry out procedures to hand them over to China according to international regulations and practices.

At around 12 o'clock on the same day, while completing the procedures, suddenly a few men from the above group took advantage of the negligence of the authorities to snatch guns and break the legs of the desk, opened fire, attacked and controlled the Vietnamese border guards, causing one Vietnamese border guard to die on the spot, forcing the Vietnamese border guards to take legitimate self-defense measures.

Although Vietnamese and Chinese authorities called on and persuaded the subjects to hand over their weapons and surrender, the subjects remained resolute in their defense, vandalizing the border guard headquarters, forcing the authorities to use professional measures to approach, control and arrest them. The subjects fought back against the border guard, and at the same time inflicted injuries on themselves, some jumped off buildings and committed suicide.

The incident left 7 people dead (including 2 Vietnamese border guards) and several injured (including 4 Vietnamese border guards).
