Vietnam Sports Waiting for Gold from Shooting and Weightlifting

Today (September 20), the Vietnamese sports delegation will officially enter the first day of competition, with two gold medal hopes in shooting and weightlifting.

In the shooting event, female athletes Le Thi Hoang Ngoc, Trieu Thi Hoa Hong and Dang Le Ngoc Mai will compete in the qualifying round of the 10m air pistol event at 6am Vietnam time. Next, athletes Tran Quoc Cuong, Nguyen Hoang Phuong and Hoang Xuan Vinh will enter the qualifying round of the men's 50m slow-fire pistol event. These are two events that promise to bring surprises because the form of Vietnamese shooters is very good.

Vietnam's shooting team has high hopes for the possibility of winning medals, especially the gold medal in the men's 10m air pistol event of veteran athlete Hoang Xuan Vinh. Among the teams participating in the 17th Asian Games, shooting is the team with the most athletes with 24 shooters. The Vietnamese shooting team has also been in Korea since September 4 for training. Before that, 11 key shooters of the shooting event also trained for 20 days in Korea.

At 5:00 p.m. Vietnam time, two hopefuls, Thach Kim Tuan and Tran Le Quoc Toan, will compete in the 56 kg weight class. According to coach Huynh Huu Chi, Thach Kim Tuan is currently in very good form. However, Tran Le Quoc Toan is also an athlete who created a surprise when he won the gold medal at the 26th SEA Games. After a difficult period with a knee injury, Quoc Toan has shown great effort to succeed at this Asiad.

Also today, Vietnamese sports have hope in judo with Van Ngoc Tu in the women's 48 kg category. Other sports with Vietnamese athletes participating are women's individual sabre, men's three-edged sabre (Nguyen Tien Nhat); wushu (long kata, sanshou); rowing; women's sepak takraw./.
