PV: In 2013, Dien Chau faced many difficulties and challenges, but the district still made efforts to achieve good results in socio-economic fields. Could you please tell us about some outstanding results?

Comrade Nguyen Ngoc Vo:In 2013, the economic situation in the world, in the country, in the province continued to face many difficulties, negatively affecting the socio-economic situation of the district. Thanks to the attention and direction of the Party Committees, the government and the efforts of all classes of people and businesses, in 2013, the socio-economic situation of Dien Chau still developed stably.

The total annual production value is estimated at 7,565 billion VND. The total annual agricultural production value is estimated at 1,780.4 billion VND, of which the value of crop cultivation is 1,004 billion VND, and livestock farming is 776.3 billion VND. The total annual rice area is 18,190 hectares, the total annual corn area is 4,633 hectares, and the peanut area is 3,528 hectares. The total annual food output is 126,238 tons, reaching 95.4% of the plan. In terms of livestock, the total buffalo herd is 5,590 heads, the total cow herd is 27,208 heads. The total pig herd is 78,320 heads. The total poultry herd is 1,490 million heads. The total output of fresh meat for slaughter is 24,764 tons.

The forestry sector's production value is estimated at 25,853 billion VND. The implementation of forest protection and development projects ensures progress and quality. The forest protection area is 6,940 ha; the area of ​​regenerating forests is 150 ha. The forest coverage rate is 24%. The aquaculture sector has developed stably. The production value (GCĐ 2010) is estimated at 540.5 billion VND, meeting the plan, up 7.9% over the same period. The total output for the year is estimated at 32,040 tons, of which, the catch output is 26,540 tons; the aquaculture output is 5,500 tons. The aquaculture area is 2,158 ha. The salt output for the year is estimated at 9,500/13,300 tons.

Directing the effective implementation of Directive No. 08-CT/TU dated May 8, 2012 of the Provincial Party Committee on promoting the mobilization of farmers to consolidate and exchange plots and encourage land accumulation to develop large-scale production in agricultural production. Up to now, 33 communes have completed; Effectively mobilizing people's strength to build rural infrastructure systems: building 89 km of asphalt roads: 34 km of concrete roads; 8 km of graded roads: ... with a total implementation cost of more than 560 billion VND; people have voluntarily donated nearly 200 hectares of land and tens of thousands of working days; the area of ​​public land converted to traffic and irrigation is over 65 hectares; digging, building intra-field roads with a volume of 133.5 km with a total cost of 10,903 billion VND.

The value of industrial and handicraft production for the whole year reached 1,031.2 billion VND. Some products grew quite high such as: agricultural and seafood processing; household plastics; metal products such as: roofing sheets, steel purlins, steel billets, construction steel, galvanized steel boxes, industrial sewing... Enterprises, households and individuals in Dien Hong small industrial cluster continued to produce effectively; small-scale industries developed, and craft villages maintained basically stable production activities.

Doing well the work of attracting investment in 2 industrial garment projects with stable production, creating jobs for nearly 1,500 workers (phase 1); Typically, Hop Tien Company Limited has constructed route 205 connecting from National Highway 7A to Dien Thap with a total value of over 82 billion VND, 10 km long, passing through Dien Cat, Dien Hanh, Dien Xuan communes... Currently, the asphalt part has been completed, over 90% of the volume. The Nhan Thanh (Yen Thanh) - Cho Chua route connecting National Highway 1, Dien Chau section, 9.7 km long, is now 50% completed. Not to mention that the company has just completed the construction of the Dien Yen - Dien Hai route, 4.5 km long. Hai Van Company Limited has constructed an anti-erosion embankment in Dien Ngoc and Dien Bich communes worth 57 billion VND, currently 80% completed, the Dien Ngoc - Dien Kim traffic route worth 52 billion VND has been completed, over 90% completed.

The production value of service sectors reached 2,486.5 billion VND. The value of the construction sector reached nearly 1,700 billion VND. Directed the completion and put into use of 5 key inter-commune traffic routes with a total length of more than 50 km, worth over 82 billion VND. In the field of environmental resource management, focused on completing 9,894 records of all kinds; registering secured transactions: 4,521 records; confirming changes after granting certificates: 1,012 records. Conducting additional measurements and drawings of 1,954 land plots.

Total budget revenue in the area is estimated to reach 105 billion VND for the whole year. Total budget expenditure is estimated to reach 738,455 billion VND for the whole year.

Continue to direct the grassroots to build cultural, sports and information institutions that meet national standards. Up to now, 25/39 communes (64%), 454/458 hamlets have cultural houses; 80.5% of households have achieved the title of Cultural Family; 25% of households have achieved the title of Sports Family, 35% of people regularly practice sports; 17/39 communes have wireless radio stations; 32 relics have been ranked.

At the end of the 2012-2013 school year, the Education sector achieved the title of excellent advanced unit at the provincial level and this was the 11th consecutive year to achieve this title; 70/90 students won prizes in the provincial excellent student competition for grade 9, accounting for 78% and ranking 3rd in the province. The health indicators for the year all met the plan: 16.7 hospital beds/10,000 people; 3.4 doctors/10,000 people; 22 communes met the national health standards according to the new standards. Vocational training, job creation, and labor export achieved good results. It is estimated that in 2013, new jobs will be created for 4,560 workers, of which 1,106 will be labor export.

Comrade Nguyen Ngoc Vo:In 2014, the district continued to focus all resources, speed up the progress of new rural construction; develop agricultural and rural infrastructure, focusing on developing traffic infrastructure, medical stations, irrigation systems, electricity, etc. to ensure production and life.

Strive to promote production, exploit potentials and advantages; develop the economy in the direction of rapidly increasing the proportion of industry and services; Resolutely implement the program of building new rural areas. Issue mechanisms and policies of the district to encourage building new rural areas in the area. Focus on directing the implementation of "land consolidation and plot exchange" according to Directive 08 associated with the model of model fields. Strive for a growth rate of industrial and construction production value of 15.5 - 16% in 2014. Gradually build and develop branded products in the district (peanuts; aquatic and seafood products; industrial sewing at 2 factories).
