Thirteen Vietnamese people died in an accident in Thailand.

Thai authorities are urgently investigating the cause of the accident.

According to the Bangkok Post, a traffic accident that occurred on the morning of June 2nd when an overloaded passenger bus crashed into a truck in Kaeng Khro district, Chaiyaphum province, Thailand, resulting in at least 13 deaths and 4 injuries.

Witnesses said the accident occurred at around 5 a.m. local time on June 2nd on National Highway 201, when a 15-seater passenger van rear-ended a truck carrying cassava that was traveling ahead.

Following the collision, the passenger bus caught fire. According to the Bangkok Post, this bus was one of four vehicles rented by a group of Vietnamese tourists and was en route from Bangkok to Nong Bua Lam Phu province.

Police representatives in Kaeng Khro said that among the 13 fatalities were nine men and four women. Four injured people were taken to a nearby hospital.

Local authorities have not yet released the identities of the victims in the tragic accident, but sources suggest that the majority of those killed were Vietnamese nationals.
