Acceptance of historical works of Political Department of Military Region 4 (1945 - 2010)

(Baonghean.vn) -On the afternoon of June 24, 2014, Military Region 4 held a conference to accept the project "History of the Political Department of Military Region 4 (1945 - 2010)". Lieutenant General Vo Van Viet, Party Secretary, Political Commissar of the Military Region attended and gave a speech, Colonel Doan Ngoc Son, Party Secretary, Deputy Chief of Political Affairs of the Military Region chaired the conference.

Researched since October 2010, after more than 3 years of compilation, the work "History of the Political Department of Military Region 4, period 1945 - 2010" completed with a capacity of 327 A4 pages with the following structure: Preface, 6 chapters, conclusion, lessons learned and appendix. In which, Chapter I, Political Department of Military Region 4 in the resistance war against the French colonialists (1945 - 1954); Chapter II, Political Department of Military Region 4 in the early stage of building socialism in the North, fighting against the American invaders on the Tri Thien battlefield (August 1954 - 1964); Chapter III, Political Department together with the army and people of Military Region 4 carried out 4 tasks on 3 battlefields, contributing to the complete liberation of the South, unification of the country (1965 - April 30, 1975); Chapter IV, Political Department of Military Region 4 in the early period of national construction and defense (May 1975 - 1985); Chapter V, Political Department of Military Region 4 in the period of national renovation, industrialization and modernization (1986 - 2000) and Chapter VI, Political Department of Military Region in the period of industrialization, modernization, integration and development (2001 - 2010).

Based on the content, structure and comments of experienced comrades in historical research and compilation and the participation of leaders and commanders of the Political Department of the Military Region through the periods on the draft of the historical work "History of the Political Department of Military Region 4 (1945 - 2010)", the delegates agreed and highly appreciated, in which, the work was meticulously collected, researched, synthesized, and compiled, with quality in both content and reasonable style. The structure is reasonable, logical, and divided into periods appropriate to the nature, characteristics of the situation, and requirements of political tasks in each revolutionary period. The content of the work "History of the Political Department of Military Region 4 (1945 - 2010)" has closely linked the Party's political and military viewpoints and guidelines. In particular, it clarified the process of formation, construction and development of the Political Department associated with the process of performing the task of advising, guiding and directing the Party and political activities of the Military Region's armed forces during 65 years of construction and growth.

The conference also gave opinions on the proposal for the Editorial Board to continue to synthesize and edit some of the content, words, and layout of the work to propose the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Political Department of Military Region 4 to publish and release the book "History of the Political Department of Military Region 4 (1945 - 2010)" to be launched on the occasion of the 69th anniversary of the tradition of the Armed Forces of Military Region 4 (October 15, 1945 - October 15, 2014).
