(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of February 5th, at Hong Tien 2 village, Chau Tien commune, Quy Chau district People's Committee organized the Rice Planting Festival (also known as the Loong Tong Festival) of the Thai ethnic group.

The festival begins with rituals performed by village shamans to worship the gods, the earth spirits, and the guardian deities, in order to pray for favorable weather, gentle winds, and a bountiful harvest.

The offerings to the gods include plates of fruit, sticky rice, pork, chicken, jars of wine, bottles of wine... Besides the ceremonial part, the festive part of the Going Down to the Fields Festival truly creates a lively, bustling, and joyful atmosphere.
