(Baonghean.vn) - On August 28, a working delegation of the Government's Ethnic Committee and the Ministry of Planning and Investment visited and worked in Quy Hop district. Comrade Son Phuoc Hoan - Deputy Minister, Vice Chairman of the Ethnic Committee led the delegation to inspect the implementation of the policy to support the settlement of ethnic minorities, Program 135 and a number of ethnic policies in the area.

The delegation also inspected the concentrated resettlement area in Pieng Luong village, Chau Thanh commune (with 50 households). Currently, residential land has been divided into 30 households (phase 1). Construction items such as electricity, roads, water and basic land have been completed, but there is a lack of community houses and kindergartens.
In the afternoon, the delegation listened to the general socio-economic and national defense situation.securityand the implementation of ethnic policy programs in the district. In general, ethnic policies and works in the district are well maintained. The total budget revenue in the district in 2013 reached 118 billion VND. The district has 12 thousand hectares of planted forests, the orange growing model has achieved quite good results... In general, the life of ethnic minorities is still difficult, the average income is 20.9 million/person/year, the poverty rate is 22.5%. There are 5 communes meeting 13 criteria, the rest meeting 7/19 criteria.
Quy Hop district recommends that the Central Government and the province continue to pay attention to supporting and providing capital for construction works, especially unfinished projects; create conditions for ethnic minority children to have jobs after graduating from university; and have solutions to ensure domestic water for people because the water source is currently polluted...
Comrade Son Phuoc Hoan acknowledged the district's opinions and highly appreciated the results of implementing ethnic programs and policies in the district, especially the policies under the responsibility of the Ethnic Committee such as decisions: 135, 755, 33, 102, 56, 54... which have also been implemented quite well. He requested that the resettlement areas that have been basically stabilized should bring people back to stabilize their lives; focus on solving environmental sanitation issues, drainage systems in resettlement areas, and granting red books for people to feel secure. Exploit land potential to increase income and improve people's lives. Projects need to be completed thoroughly; pay attention to preserving the cultural identity of the people; integrate capital sources in the area to create high efficiency in capital use.
