Con Cuong District Regional Defense Exercise 2014

(Baonghean.vn) -On June 16-17, Con Cuong district organized its 2014 district-level defense exercise. Attending and directing the exercise were Major General Nguyen Xuan Lam - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Director of the Provincial Police, and Deputy Head of the Provincial Defense Exercise Steering Committee, along with other members of the Provincial Exercise Steering Committee.

The Con Cuong District Military Party Committee held a meeting to assess the enemy situation in the evacuation area.

In 2014, the Provincial Steering Committee for Regional Defense Exercises assigned Con Cuong district to organize an exercise incorporating several new elements, such as: implementing a Government Decree; the operation of an emergency command center to address pressing and prominent issues in the area; transitioning the district's armed forces to a state of combat readiness; transitioning the locality into various states of national defense; defeating the "peaceful evolution and subversive rebellion" strategy of hostile forces; and maintaining the district's defense zone. The training focused on: transitioning the armed forces from a state of regular combat readiness to a high state, and from a high state to full readiness; transitioning the locality into a state of emergency and wartime operations; organizing and practicing defense against enemy air attacks; practicing relocating the command center to a secret assembly area; and a meeting of the District Military Party Committee to approve the defensive combat plan of the District Military Command Commander. The District People's Committee organized a conference to assign tasks and coordinate defense operations; approved defense operational plans for the Party and government sectors; and conducted drills to mobilize forces and resources, and live-fire exercises to counter enemy infiltration across the border.

Thanks to thorough preparation, the Party committee and government conducted the exercise in the correct order; agencies, departments, and organizations provided effective advice to the Party committee and government at each stage of transitioning to combat readiness and engaging in combat; and the combined strength of the entire political system was effectively utilized in the construction and operation of the regional defense zone.

The exercise concluded with high praise from the provincial exercise steering committee, having successfully completed the planned content, achieved the set objectives and requirements, and ensured absolute safety for personnel and equipment. The exercise was evaluated as achieving excellent results by the provincial exercise steering committee.
