(Baonghean.vn) - Recently, in Nghi Loc district (Nghe An), the theft of buffaloes and cows has recurred, causing poor families who have worked hard to live in a state of insecurity because their valuable assets, buffaloes and cows, are always being lurked and stolen by thieves. Faced with this situation, Nghi Loc district police have stepped in to investigate and clarify the situation.

On the night of September 18, 2014, in Hamlet 13, Nghi Thinh Commune, Nghi Loc District, there were two cases of cow theft from Mr. Le Van Nhoi's family and Mr. Luong Dinh Hap's family. Although the cow pens were carefully locked, thieves still broke in and stole the cows. The four cows stolen from the two families were worth more than 60 million VND. Mr. Le Van Nhoi did not hide his sadness and said: "My family is in difficult circumstances, my children live far away, my wife has just passed away for a year, I am alone at home raising 2 cows to earn a living, but unexpectedly the thief sneaked in and took both of them. At 1:30 am, I heard the dog barking, I went out to check and saw that they were still there, but in the morning the cow pen was empty. I lost 2 cows, now I don't know what to do for a living..."

Through information provided by local people, Nghi Loc police have identified the perpetrator of the cow thefts that occurred in the area from the beginning of September until now as Nguyen Dinh Ly (born in 1991), residing in Hamlet 8, Nghi Hop Commune, Nghi Loc. On September 21, 2014, an emergency arrest warrant was issued when Nguyen Dinh Ly was taking the two stolen yellow cows to Do Luong District for sale. At the investigation agency, Nguyen Dinh Ly confessed:To commit the crime, Ly conducted reconnaissance in advance of any family that raised cows, then took advantage of the late night when the homeowner was fast asleep, Nguyen Dinh Ly sneaked into the cowshed, opened the latch and took the cow to hide in a deserted location, then continued to break into another house to steal the cow. Once he had successfully carried out the crime, Ly rented a small pickup truck to transport the cows to Do Luong to sell to a subject named Giang in Dang Son (Do Luong).

In addition to the two thefts mentioned above, Nguyen Dinh Ly also successfully carried out two cow thefts in Hamlet 7, Nghi Hop Commune, Nghi Loc on September 4, 2014, using a similar method. It is known that Nguyen Dinh Ly had a previous conviction for property theft and was released from prison in June 2014.
