The central character in this 1,700-word short story is Dolores Umbridge, a wicked witch who was once a professor at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Rowling will provide many details about Umbridge's life, the only person besides Lord Voldemort capable of removing Harry Potter's lightning-shaped scar. The story contains "Rowling's critiques and thoughts (expressed in the first person) about the character."

Like other short stories related to the Harry Potter series, the new work will be published on Pottermore, a large community of fans of the famous series.

In July, Rowling also wrote a new story about the Harry Potter character, providing more information about many of the boy wizard's friends. Additionally, the author is currently writing the script for the first film in the new series (based on the Harry Potter wizarding world) titled Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. This film is scheduled for release on November 18, 2016. The remaining two films will be released in 2018 and 2020.
