In implementing Joint Resolution No. 05 (2006) between the Central Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, in recent years, the Veterans Associations at all levels in the North Central provinces have developed many good models and effective methods in environmental protection work.
New models such as "Protecting a clean and green environment is the responsibility of the community" (Nghe An Veterans Association); "Friendly bathing" of the Quang Binh Veterans Association; "Veterans Association self-managed groups collecting bottles and pesticides in the fields"; "One garbage pit per family" of the Ha Tinh Veterans Association... are being replicated throughout the region. Many cooperatives and environmental groups run by veterans have been established and are operating effectively.
