According to Voice of Russia, analyst Rakesh Krishnan Simha of the Global Research Center said on December 1 that thanks to the strategic foresight of Russian President Vladimir Putin and those around him, Russia is gaining the upper hand in a new Cold War.
Mr Simha said the success of the Russian leader rested on two pillars – two correct strategic decisions in the confrontation with the West. First, Russia refused to have an armed conflict with Ukraine – something that completely disappointed Washington because the US really wanted to drag Russia into a regional conflict in Europe.

Second, Mr. Putin uses a strategy of asymmetrical response. Mr. Putin is a judo master who skillfully exploits martial arts philosophy in the confrontation between nations and knows how to turn the opponent’s strength against the opponent.
According to analyst Simha, the US has undertaken an impossible task of confronting Russia and curbing the dynamic growth of the BRICS group, which includes Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.
Mr. Simha also noted that the Ukraine conflict and sanctions against Russia could create side effects, causing many disagreements and being the cause of a "divorce" between Europe and the US./.
