Continue to support young people with capital and job creation

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of September 25, the delegation of the National Committee on Vietnamese Youth led by Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung - Deputy Minister of Information and Communications had a working session with the Provincial People's Committee on the implementation of laws, youth policies and youth work in Nghe An province.

Attending the meeting were Mr. Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, representatives of the Provincial Youth Union and related departments and branches.

In recent times, in order to effectively implement the Vietnam Youth Development Strategy for the period 2011-2020 and the Nghe An province youth development program for the period 2013-2020, the Provincial People's Committee has signed a cooperation agreement with the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Executive Committee of Nghe An province. Thereby, clearly defining the functions and tasks of all levels of government and the Youth Union in the field of youth work to clearly define the relationship of cooperation, contributing to supporting and motivating the promotion of the role and youth strength of the youth in participating in local socio-economic development.

Party committees at all levels pay attention to leading and directing youth work, listening to dialogues with youth, and assigning cadres in charge of youth; Party committees have also actively directed departments, branches, and organizations to build relationships and coordinate activities with youth. They pay attention to and create opportunities and favorable conditions for youth to study and constantly improve their professional qualifications. There have been many policies to support youth in equipping them with vocational skills, solving employment, increasing income, and improving their lives. These are policies such as: Establishing the Nghe An Youth Support and Development Center; building the Na Ngoi - Ky Son Youth Village project. Youth Union chapters at all levels have guided and helped young people to prepare loan applications from the Social Policy Bank, with a total outstanding debt of nearly 500 billion for nearly 40,000 young people, creating jobs for 20,000 people. The whole province has organized 1,200 training courses to transfer science and technology to 80,000 young people, 1,550 youth economic models with annual income of over 50 million VND.

Speaking at the meeting, comrade Huynh Thanh Dien praised some achievements in supporting youth of departments, branches, sectors, and Youth Union chapters at all levels. At the same time, he pointed out some difficulties and limitations affecting youth development work in the area and hoped to receive advice and assistance from the Working Group.

Comrade Nguyen Thanh Hung highly appreciated the implementation of Decision 2427/QD-TTg dated December 30, 2011 of the Prime Minister on the implementation of the Vietnam Youth Development Strategy for the period 2011 - 2020 in Nghe An province. He requested relevant sectors in the youth support program to complete the detailed proposals, strengthen inspection work to further improve the youth development support work in the spirit of Decision 2427.
