Sword fight, 1 person hospitalized

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of November 3, Quynh Luu district police said they were detaining 5 people who had caused a fight and slashed someone in Son Hai commune, causing 1 person to be hospitalized in critical condition.

Mr. Dang Trong Huynh - Deputy Chief of Police of Quynh Luu District said that at around 11pm on November 2, a group of about 10 young men, all residing in Son Hai Commune, invited each other to eat porridge at night. After finishing eating, the group of young men left and when they reached Hamlet 3, they met another group of young men. Due to previous conflicts, when the two groups met, they provoked each other to fight. Because both sides could not control themselves, they chased each other on the road on motorbikes. During the chase to fight, Nguyen Ngoc Tai (born in 1995, residing in Hamlet 7, Son Hai Commune) was slashed in the neck by NVH (born in 1993, residing in the same hamlet), causing the victim to collapse on the spot. In addition to this victim, one of the young men was slashed in the shoulder, leading to a ruptured spleen inside.

After the incident, local residents took the two victims to the Quynh Luu District General Hospital for emergency treatment. However, Tai's injuries were so severe that he was transferred to Nghe An General Hospital 115 for emergency treatment that night.

That same night, the suspects were arrested by the Son Hai Commune Police and documents and evidence were collected to clarify the cause of the incident. At the scene, the commune police seized many weapons such as knives, swords, and sticks.

On the afternoon of November 3, we contacted Ms. Nguyen Thi Nga (Tai's mother) and learned that Tai is now out of danger. However, doctors are still monitoring him regularly.

According to local residents, the group of young men who fought had all dropped out of school and were mainly fishing at sea. After each trip back from the sea, the young men would often gather to drink, quarrel and fight.

Quynh Luu District Police are continuing to investigate and clarify this case.
