Accordingly, at 5:00 a.m. on December 20, Mr. Thien walked to the fish pond in Hamlet 9, Quynh Hau Commune and discovered a strange fish swimming along the current in the Mai Giang River. Seeing the strange fish, both big and long, Mr. Thien called some more people down to catch it. About 10 minutes later, this fish was brought to shore by Mr. Thien and some people. After being weighed, this fish weighed 8.6 kg; was nearly 1.6 m long and was black. Knowing the above incident, many curious people came to see this fish. Many people thought that the fish they had just caught was a whale.

At noon that same day, he sold this eel to a local restaurant for 3.2 million VND.
