(Baonghean) - On December 12th, the 13th session of the 16th term of the Nghe An Provincial People's Council concluded. Many important issues were carefully considered and clarified by the delegates in a spirit of urgency, seriousness, and high responsibility throughout the three days. However, the most prominent concerns and reflections were regarding the poverty eradication efforts, which have not yet achieved the desired results.

The reason for saying this is that not only did the delegates spend considerable time clarifying the causes of the limitations and weaknesses in this area over the past period, but the quality, attitude, and sentiment of the delegates when discussing this issue were very profound and contained a deep concern and a burning desire to quickly reduce the number of impoverished households. Thanks to this, the objective and subjective causes were clearly and specifically identified; from the limitations of the province's agricultural production under harsh natural climatic conditions, to the limitations of the people and local officials; limitations in vocational training... leading to a situation where much effort and capital are invested but the results are minimal.

We must frankly admit that, to this day, Nghe An has not yet escaped the status of a poor province, despite its potential in terms of human resources and natural resources.

The challenge is to create the necessary potential to unlock it. But how? This issue has been discussed, but it remains unclear and lacking in specifics. Measures to address existing problems and solutions to new issues, both in terms of direction and specific actions, are largely the same as before. The lack of clarity in new solutions has, to some extent, failed to meet expectations and create a breakthrough to provide a strong impetus to overcome the long-standing stagnation and inertia.

Therefore, among the many issues that need to be addressed, poverty eradication should be identified as the top priority. This must be clearly defined to concentrate human and material resources on this issue. From there, appropriate and highly feasible solutions can be found, especially those that act as catalysts, creating momentum, and must be implemented with the will and determination of the entire political system and all segments of the population. In reality, no one wants to live in poverty forever. Eradicating poverty will stabilize public sentiment. And when the people are at peace, the whole society is at peace. Security and order are ensured. Eradicating poverty guarantees social welfare. Eradicating poverty improves and enhances people's lives, promotes economic growth. Eradicating poverty provides additional resources for investment in production and business development... And eradicating poverty is the foundation for effectively achieving the overall goals for the coming year as determined at this session.

Therefore, it is essential to consider poverty eradication as a central and continuous task that needs to be focused on in the coming period and must be implemented immediately after this session.
