Car crashes into traffic light pole, 4 people hospitalized

(Baonghean.vn) - The taxi crashed straight into the barrier (1.5m high), knocked down the lamp post and rolled onto the railway, causing the front wheel to fly off the road, seriously injuring four people on board.

The accident happened at 0:15 this morning (December 13) at the railway crossing at km 270 + 575 of the Thong Nhat railway (Dien Yen commune, Dien Chau district, Nghe An).

Mr. Vu Nang Trinh and Ms. Pham Thi Xuan - Yen Ly gatekeepers had just lowered the barrier to welcome the train when suddenly a taxi with license plate 37A 09963 rushed from Highway 48 to Highway 1A and crashed straight into the dividing platform between the two highways, knocking down the signal pole and the car's front wheel flying over the railway. Four people on the car were taken out of the ambulance by local people at night. The accident caused the freight train H2T1 (Ho Chi Minh City - Hanoi route) to back up to Yen Ly station to wait for the road, a series of late trains followed.

According to the gatekeeper, this taxi was driving at a very high speed, ignoring both the red light and the gatekeeper's commands.
