Horrific shooting in Paris, 11 people dead

Two hooded men with AKs entered the building... A few minutes later, there were several gunshots.

AFP and Reuters news agencies quoted French TV channel iTELE reporting that on January 7, a shooting occurred at the office of weekly newspaper Charlie Hebdo in Paris.

Police said the incident left 11 people dead and 10 injured, five of them seriously.

iTELE quoted witness Benoit Bringer as saying he witnessed the incident from a nearby building in the heart of Paris.

"About an hour and a half ago, two hooded men with AK-47s entered the building... A few minutes later, we heard several gunshots," Mr. Bringer said.

French President Francois Hollande is currently on his way to the scene and will convene an emergency cabinet meeting./.
