Vietnam Olympic team competes with 'blue team' Indonesia and Uzbekistan
Head coach Toshiya Miura and VFF functional departments have agreed on a plan to gather and play friendly matches to prepare for the U23 Asian qualifiers of the Vietnam Olympic team.
Accordingly, the two upcoming opponents of the Vietnam Olympic team will be the Uzbekistan Olympic team and the Indonesia Olympic team. The Vietnam Olympic team is expected to meet the Indonesia Olympic team on March 9.
Next, on March 14, there will be a match between Vietnam Olympic team and Uzbekistan Olympic team.

This is the preparation plan of the Vietnam Olympic team for the 2016 U23 Asian qualifiers as well as the 28th SEA Games in 2015.
In the latest FIFA rankings, Uzbekistan is ranked 4th in Asia (after Iran, Japan and South Korea). In recent meetings, this Central Asian team defeated Vietnam twice with scores of 3-0 and 3-1 respectively in the 2015 Asian Cup qualifiers.
The Uzbekistan Olympic team, which gathers the successors of the national team, is considered much higher than the Vietnam Olympic team. Therefore, the Uzbekistan Olympic and Indonesia Olympic teams are expected to be strong enough “tests” for coach Toshiya Miura and his team before they go to Malaysia to participate in the 2016 U23 Asian qualifiers.
The 2016 AFC U23 Championship qualifiers will take place from March 23-31. According to the draw results, Vietnam Olympic team will be in Group I with Japan, Malaysia and Macau (China). To prepare for this tournament, Vietnam Olympic team will focus on training right after Tet At Mui in Hanoi.
From now until the time the Vietnam Olympic team gathers, Coach Toshiya Miura will continue to watch the matches within the framework of V.League 1-2015 to select the best young players for the Vietnam Olympic team.
Among these, the outstanding faces of the Vietnam U19 team last year certainly cannot be absent. In addition, the players who are still in the U23 age group who participated in the 17th ASIAD in 2014 will also be retained.
