WHEN THE ATTACKERS PRACTICE "THE PRE-ATTACK"

Unlike the defensive style of play that was often used in past encounters with Korean players, today the Vietnamese team chose to enter the game confidently, launching continuous attacks on their opponents. The strength and aggressiveness of the home team's players in one-on-one situations soon put the Korean team in a state of confusion, unable to keep up with the game.

The young team from the land of Kim Chi could only stand firm in the first 10 minutes, and in the 11th minute, they had to accept the first goal when they did not arrange someone to "catch" Vu Minh Tuan in the situation where the Vietnamese team had a corner kick on the right wing. The ball was passed by Thanh Luong very uncomfortably and the header of the away team's defender brought the ball to a very favorable position for Minh Tuan right in front of the penalty area. Minh Tuan's "lightning" volley did not give the Korean SV defense any chance to save the goal.

Minh Tuan had an excellent performance in this match.

Within just 6 minutes of the opening goal, the Vietnamese team continued to attack strongly and brought maximum efficiency. The good coordination continued to bring 2 more goals in the 15th minute (Minh Tuan) and 17th minute (Van Quyet) so that the Vietnamese team soon led the opponent 3-0 after less than 20 minutes of play.

DEFENSE CONFIDENTLY DEFENDS THE VICTORY

After the training trip to Japan last month, Coach Miura did not hesitate to "criticize" the defensive ability of the Vietnam National Team and spent most of the recent training time with his students to overcome the weaknesses in the defense. The results were quite positive, as evidenced by the fact that when the Korean students pushed up their formation to play strong attacks in the second half, although the Vietnamese team's goal faced many storms, the defense system still maintained its cohesion and high concentration to neutralize all the opportunities created by the Korean students.

After 90 minutes of play, the Vietnam team maintained the gap they had created and won the match with a final score of 3-0. The defense continued to receive positive reviews. Notably, in the last 4 friendly matches against U23 Bahrain, Dong Nai, QNK.QN, and SV Korea, the Vietnam team only conceded 1 goal. This was achieved because the players (including the strikers) were aware that each position on the field must have the awareness to support the defense. When the whole team clearly understood the value of the "11-man defense system" and implemented it, of course, the goal of the Vietnam team had a reliable "shield".

There are only 17 days left until the Vietnam National Team begins its journey to conquer the AFF Suzuki Cup 2014 Finals. With the current optimistic steps, Coach Miura and his students will continue to reap more joy.
