Transport industry: Resolute reform, for the satisfaction of people and businesses

(Baonghean.vn) - This morning (January 19), the Ministry of Transport held an online conference with localities to summarize the work in 2014 and deploy tasks in 2015. Comrade Dinh La Thang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Transport chaired the conference. Attending the conference were leaders of Central Ministries, Departments and Branches.

2014 is considered a successful year for the Transport sector, as it has achieved many outstanding results in all areas, creating a special mark and making an important contribution to the overall development of the country. Notably, the drastic direction and management, both synchronous and focused, of the leaders of the Ministry of Transport. With the implementation of the breakthrough of promoting the restructuring of public investment, rapidly developing the infrastructure system, most projects were completed on schedule and ensured quality. The work of restructuring and equitization of enterprises continued to be promoted. During the year, the Ministry successfully equitized 48 out of 76 enterprises nationwide, continuing to be the leading unit in the country in equitizing enterprises. One of the important tasks that the transport sector has vigorously implemented is to tighten vehicle load management, contributing to protecting the solid transport infrastructure and minimizing traffic accidents. Regarding the work of ensuring traffic order and safety, with the participation of the entire political system, especially the efforts of the transport sector, traffic accidents continue to be controlled.

The conference also heard leaders of provinces and cities report on the results of the transport sector that localities have achieved in the past year, and at the same time, proposed issues related to tasks and solutions in 2015. In which, the majority of opinions hoped that the Ministry of Transport would continue to pay attention, support and have many investment projects in the provinces and cities.

In 2015, the Transport sector has set out 9 key tasks to be carried out, including some targets that the sector strives to achieve, which are: striving for an average growth of 5% in cargo tons and passenger numbers compared to 2014; Completing the implementation plan and disbursing all assigned capital sources; Reducing traffic accidents by 5-10%; Completing the equitization of 14 enterprises, implementing the equitization of 29 enterprises and public service units.

In his concluding remarks at the conference, Minister of Transport Dinh La Thang emphasized that with the motto "Promoting the 70-year tradition of pioneering, continuing to innovate, and drastically reforming for the greater satisfaction of people and businesses", in 2015, the entire transport sector will continue to make greater efforts, more drastically, focusing on perfecting institutions and policies to promote transport development in order to serve the interests of people and businesses, contributing to the socio-economic development of the country.

On this occasion, authorized by the President, Minister of Transport Dinh La Thang awarded the First Class Labor Medal to Mr. Truong Tan Vien - former Deputy Minister of Transport, the Second Class Labor Medal to 1 individual and the Third Class Labor Medal to 8 individuals; awarded the Emulation Flag of the Prime Minister to 14 collectives of localities with outstanding achievements in the development of mountainous transport, including the people and officials of Quy Chau district - Nghe An; and 19 collectives of units under the Ministry with outstanding achievements in the emulation movement of the transport sector in 2014. There were 2 individuals awarded the title "National Emulation Fighter". The Ministry of Transport also awarded the excellent emulation flag to 39 collectives under the Ministry of Transport; 24 Departments of Transport of provinces and cities, including Nghe An Department of Transport, 14 transport enterprises of localities; 62 collectives of people and ministries of districts; Certificates of Merit were awarded to 11 communes nationwide, of which Nghe An province has 3 communes.
