The two aforementioned "key" programs are being staged for premiere in 2015. At the end of 2014, two more plays will appear at this theater, including "The Mirror" (written by Chu Thơm, directed by Meritorious Artist Anh Tú) and "Justice Cannot Be Defeated" (written by Lê Chí Trung, directed by People's Artist Doãn Hoàng Giang). In addition, several other general arts programs will be organized, including a memorial night for victims of traffic accidents called "Words of Repentance" on November 16th.
"But specifically for 'Xóm Hóng' (Gossip Village), we're not just limiting ourselves to the theater. A host of comedians from the capital, such as Xuân Bắc, Tự Long, Công Lý... will participate in the program. We might even feature some faces from the South," shared Meritorious Artist Chí Trung, Deputy Director of the Theater.
The show "Xóm Hóng" will be contracted to broadcast 52 episodes on television, in the style of a comedy show combined with reality TV. Of course, during the production and filming of these 52 episodes, the Youth Theatre will not forget to sell tickets to the public, starting with the first performance on the evening of November 7th, under the name "Hoạn Thư's Fan Club".
While refusing to reveal the chosen television channel, Chi Trung added that the majority of the scripts for the 52 episodes of "Xóm Hóng" will be selected from 160 comedy scripts staged by the Youth Theatre over the past 10 years. A portion of the remaining scripts will be commissioned from familiar comedy writers such as Do Minh Tuan, Cu Trong Xoay, and Hoang Nhuan Cam. "With only 52 nights and no two nights being alike, I hope that viewers will find something more appealing in 'Xóm Hóng' than the long-standing negative perception of comedy on television," he said.
