Movie "Boyhood" wins big at Golden Globe 2015
Richard Linklater and his 12-year-old film were honored with the "Best Dramatic Film" and "Best Director" awards. The awards were presented by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association on the evening of January 11 (local time) in California, USA.
The 12-year-long dream of director Richard Linklater and three producers, Cathleen Sutherland, Jonathan Sehring and John Sloss, Boyhood, has begun to reap its first “sweet fruits”. Boyhood was a resounding winner at the 72nd Golden Globe Awards with three titles - “Best Dramatic Film”, “Best Director” (for Richard Linklater) and “Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture” (for Patricia Arquette).

The film, which tells the story of a boy’s journey to adulthood, using a cast of 12 years, attracted strong attention when it premiered at the 2014 Berlin Film Festival. Over the past year, the film has always been on the favorites list of many prestigious film critics. Before the Golden Globes took place, Boyhood was also predicted to win the most important awards. With this victory, the film became the number one candidate in the race for this year’s Oscars, taking place in February.
The Grand Budapest Hotel was the biggest surprise at this year's Golden Globes when it beat Birdman to win the title of "Best Comedy/Musical". Previously, experts said that Birdman had no competitors in this category.
Two other surprises came in the Best Animated Feature and Best Foreign Language Film categories. In the animated film category, Big Hero 6 and The Lego Movie were the two most mentioned names when the nominations were announced. However, How to Train Your Dragon 2 won. In the foreign language film category, the controversial Russian film Leviathan beat out Poland’s Ida to become the Best Foreign Language Film at the 72nd Golden Globes.

Despite losing the title of “Best Comedy/Musical”, Birdman was still honored with two golden statues for “Best Actor in a Comedy/Musical” (Michael Keaton) and “Best Screenplay”. This is a film about a fallen actor who wants to regain his fame through a stage play. The work marks the return of the veteran actor - Michael Keaton. The character in the film is said to have many similarities with Michael’s real life. Standing on stage, the 63-year-old actor could not hold back his tears when receiving the first Golden Globe of his career.
Amy Adams became the second consecutive winner of the "Best Actress in a Comedy/Musical" award. This year, she was honored for her role in Tim Burton's Big Eyes. Last year, Amy also stood on stage to receive the award for the film American Hustle. The actress shared after receiving the award: "Don't read what other people write to you. Surround yourself with people who are willing to disagree with you, don't be afraid to speak up. Focus on the art instead of the glitz of showbiz."

Julianne Moore beat Rosamund Pike, Felicity Jones, Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston to win the Best Actress in a Drama for her role as a mother in Still Alice. The Best Actor in a Drama went to young actor Eddie Redmayne for his role as a great physicist in The Theory of Everything.
The 72nd Golden Globe Awards took place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in California, USA, and were televised in more than 168 countries and territories. Comedians Amy Poehler and Tina Fey hosted the awards ceremony for the third time. The Sony hacking scandal, which included defamation of a number of big stars, and the Bill Cosby sexual abuse scandal were made fun of in the opening segment of the program.
Benedict Cumberbatch and Jennifer Aniston were the two artists who presented the first award of this year's Golden Globe - "Best Supporting Actor" - to JK Simmons for his role as an eccentric teacher in the independent film Whiplash.
Jennifer Lopez and Jeremy Renner presented the award for Best Limited Series or Television Movie to Fargo - the year's most notable and the strongest contender in this category. Both Fargo actors Billy Bob Thorton and Martin Freeman were nominated for Best Actor in a Limited Series or Television Movie, but Billy won.
The Theory of Everything beat out other contenders such as Interstellar, Gone Girl, Birdman and The Imitation Game to win the "Best Original Score" award for Icelandic composer Johann Johannsson. This film is based on the real life of the great physicist and cosmologist Stephen Hawking and his love story with his first wife, Jane Hawking.
Singer John Legend beat strong contender Lana Del Rey to win the award for "Best Original Song" with the song Glory from the movie Selma.
The Affair was named Best Drama Series while Transparent was named Best Comedy Series at this year's Golden Globes. Kevin Spacey won Best Actor in a Drama Series for his role in House of Cards. Ruth Wilson also won Best Actress in a Drama Series for The Affair.
