16 projects licensed by the Southeast Economic Zone Management Board

(Baonghean) - In 2014, the Southeast Economic Zone Management Board granted Investment Certificates to 16 projects, including 15 domestic investment projects and 1 foreign investment project; adjusted capital increase for 3 projects.

Total registered investment capital including additional adjustments reached over 7,005 billion VND and 13 million USD. Large-scale projects attracted in 2014 include: Hoa Sen Group project 3,682.5 billion VND; MASAN project 1,200 billion VND. Accumulated to the end of November 2014, the Southeast Economic Zone and industrial parks have attracted 118 investment projects that are still in effect. Of which, there are 14 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects with a total investment capital of 1,108 million USD and 104 domestic investment projects, with a total registered investment capital of 26,006 billion VND.

To achieve the above results, in addition to promoting investment promotion activities under the direction of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee, the Management Board of the Southeast Economic Zone (EZ) has strengthened inspection and supervision of the progress of projects that have been granted investment certificates and resolutely revoked projects that are behind schedule. In 2014, 10 projects were revoked; the valuation of invested assets was organized and the site was handed over to new projects, including large-scale projects of strong corporations such as MASAN, Ton Hoa Sen and Cargil Vietnam.

In the process of performing its tasks, the Economic Zone Management Board enlisted the help of the Central Ministries and branches; the coordination of the Department of Planning and Investment and relevant branches to organize the promotion of domestic and foreign investment attraction. In which the focus is on large-scale projects such as: Industrial Park - Urban Infrastructure Construction Project of Becamex Binh Duong Corporation - VSIP; Animal Feed Factory Project of Cargill Vietnam Co., Ltd. (USA); High-tech Leather Shoe Production Project of Nam Dan Van An Company; MDF Project of May Forestry Joint Stock Company in Nghia Dan Industrial Zone; Projects of Bohra India Company in Dong Hoi Industrial Zone; Solar energy project in the Southeast Economic Zone of Han - Han Group (Korea); Wastewater treatment plant, clean water supply in Tho Loc Industrial Park, Dong Nam Nghe An Economic Zone and Hoang Mai and Dong Hoi Industrial Parks of GEO UK LTD Company (UK)... At the same time, coordinate with departments and branches to successfully organize the Spring Meeting with Investors 2014; Conference summarizing 10 years of cooperation with Ho Chi Minh City; prepare documents and files for the provincial leadership delegation to promote investment in Japan, Singapore, UK, Israel, Korea and the Russian Federation.
