Fishing boat hits reef, 8 fishermen escape

(Baonghean.vn) - On the way back from fishing to the dock for a moonlit break as usual, fishing boat NA-95225-TS, operated by Mr. Ho Van Bac, residing in hamlet 9, Son Hai commune (Quynh Luu) and 8 fishermen, encountered fog obscuring visibility and crashed into a reef in Quynh Long commune, about 1.5 km from the mainland. The boat broke apart, and the fishermen on board were fortunately rescued.

Accordingly, at about 4:30 a.m. on January 25, a report was received that fishing boat NA-95225-TS was returning to port as usual when it hit a reef about 1.5 km from the mainland. The boat broke apart, the engine died, and 8 fishermen were rescued by ships returning on the same trip.

At 7:30 this morning, the salvage work of the wrecked vehicle was being carried out by towing vehicles to the shore.

It is known that the NA-95225-TS ship was invested by Mr. Ho Van Bac and 6 friends with a value of 1 billion VND, this is the 4th fishing trip since the purchase and the accident. During this fishing trip, according to the fishermen on the ship, the squid output was about 200 million VND but was damaged due to being submerged in water.

This is the second fishing boat of fishermen from Son Hai commune to collide with a reef in Quynh Long commune (Quynh Luu), fortunately no fishermen died.
