Japan outraged as IS announces execution of hostage Kenji Goto
According to AFP, Japan on January 31 declared Tokyo outraged after the Islamic State (IS) group released a video showing the beheading of Japanese hostage Kenji Goto.
Speaking at a press conference in Tokyo, Japanese Government Spokesperson Yoshihide Suga said: “We feel extremely indignant at the repetition of this cowardly and extremely cruel act of terrorism… Once again, we strongly condemn this act.”

However, Mr. Suga did not comment on whether Tokyo considered the previously released video to be reliable.
Earlier on the night of January 31, IS released a video on the Internet showing the execution of a person the extremist group claimed was the second Japanese hostage, Kenji Goto.
The video shows Goto, dressed in orange, kneeling next to a masked man holding a knife who claims the Japanese government is responsible for the execution.
The authenticity of the video has not yet been verified.
Responding to this move, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe affirmed that Tokyo “will never tolerate terrorists” and will cooperate with the international community to make them pay for the crimes they have committed./.
