The Old Trafford side beat League Two side Cambridge 3-0 in their FA Cup fourth-round replay.

No further surprises occurred in the FA Cup fourth-round replay. The order of power was established as Man Utd comfortably defeated Cambridge Utd 3-0. Juan Mata and Marcos Rojo secured the home side's safety in the first half. In the 73rd minute, substitute James Wilson sealed the victory.

In the fifth round, Man Utd will face League One side Preston. This is the team that former Man Utd manager David Moyes played for during his playing career.

Cambridge, a team currently playing in League Two, has every right to be proud of what they achieved in this year's FA Cup. The third-tier club, ranked 79 places below Manchester United in the English professional league standings, impressively held the "Red Devils" to a 0-0 draw in the fourth round. Therefore, manager Van Gaal had to field his strongest team in the replay on February 3rd to secure their place in the next round.

In any case, for Cambridge, the nearly $1.5 million received for the replay was enough to make them feel satisfied. According to the club's chairman, this amount could be used to upgrade the stadium's restrooms.

The performance of the Old Trafford team can be analyzed from several different perspectives. On the negative side, Man Utd's style of play mainly relied on long balls to Maroune Fellaini. In addition, the star players made many inaccurate passes.

On the positive side, Fellaini has been given opportunities by manager Louis Van Gaal, who has recognized the Belgian midfielder's strengths. In addition, the performances of two homegrown players, Paddy McNair and Wilson, have also contributed to this.

The Cambridge players didn't show much at Old Trafford except for a chance to score in the very first minute. A mistake by Daley Blind nearly put the visitors ahead, but his final shot hit the post. The 6,000 visiting fans at Old Trafford were disappointed by this missed opportunity, while over 70,000 Manchester United supporters breathed a sigh of relief.

Once they gained possession, Van Gaal's team began to impose a one-sided game on the visitors. In the 25th minute, Mata put the home side ahead. The Spanish midfielder quickly finished from close range after a header from Fellaini.

Seven minutes later, Robin Van Persie delivered a skillful pass inside the penalty area for Rojo to head home a powerful header, doubling the lead.

In the 73rd minute, young striker Wilson confidently unleashed a low shot from just outside the penalty area; the ball went in with such force that the Cambridge goalkeeper had no chance to save it.
