Welcoming the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts to the Motherland

(Baonghean.vn)-On February 3, in the atmosphere of the whole country celebrating the 85th anniversary of the Party's founding, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, the provincial armed forces and provincial departments, branches, sectors and organizations held a burial ceremony for the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Laos in the first phase, dry season 2014 - 2015 at the martyrs' cemetery of Do Luong district.

Attending the ceremony were comrades Doan Mau Diep, Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, Lieutenant General Vo Van Viet, Political Commissar of Military Region 4, and delegations from the three provinces of Xieng Khouang, Vientiane and Xay Xom Bun, Laos.

On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrades: Le Minh Thong, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee; Colonel Ha Tan Tien, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Commander of the Provincial Military Command; Le Ngoc Hoa, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, along with leaders of provincial departments, branches, and sectors, cadres and people of Do Luong district.

In the dry season of 2014-2015, Nghe An province coordinated with 3 provinces of Laos to search, excavate and collect 81 martyrs' graves. During the implementation of the mission, the special working group of Nghe An province encountered many difficulties such as lack of information, graves scattered in remote areas, rugged mountains and forests, harsh weather... However, with a sense of responsibility and sacred, deep affection for comrades and teammates who sacrificed, in the first phase of the dry season of 2014-2015, the Collection Team searched, excavated and moved 48 remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who sacrificed in Laos back to Vietnam.

At the ceremony, the delegates of Vietnam and Laos together reviewed the glorious history of Vietnam and Laos fighting side by side in the resistance wars to liberate the country as well as the sacrifices for the noble international duty of volunteer soldiers and experts. At the same time, the delegates, people and students directly sent the martyrs back to their homeland.
