Keng Du is a particularly difficult commune of Ky Son district. The commune has 10 villages, 700 households with more than 4,000 people, the current poverty rate is nearly 67%. Implementing the plan to help poor commune Keng Du, in recent years, Nghe An Department of Transport has had many programs to support poor people to develop the economy. Every year, the Department's staff and workers deduct their salaries and mobilize other socialized resources to support Keng Du commune.

In 2013 - 2014, the Department gave nearly 80 goats to the people. To date, the herd of goats has grown to more than 120. Nearly 1,000 bamboo shoots are also growing and starting to be harvested.
