Ensure dietary supplement is not yet permitted for circulation in Vietnam.
Trading, distributing, circulating and advertising this product in the Vietnamese market are all violations.
The Department of Food Safety (Ministry of Health) has just sent a document to the Department of Health of provinces and cities to strengthen inspection and control activities on the sale of Ensure milk products manufactured by Abbott Laboratories.
According to information from the Food Safety Department, recently, some media reported that Ensure milk products manufactured by Abbott Laboratories belong to the group of dietary supplements, with the label containing the phrase "not to be sold in Viet Nam or Mexico."

Regarding the above information, the Food Safety Department has checked the data at the Department. Up to now, the Department has not issued a certificate of conformity to food safety regulations for any Ensure milk product manufactured by Abbott Laboratories in the group of food supplements, with the label containing the phrase "not to be sold in Viet Nam or Mexico.".Therefore, this product is not allowed to be circulated in Vietnam. Trading, distributing, circulating, and advertising this product in the Vietnamese market are all violations.
To promptly detect and strictly handle the above violations, the Department issued Official Dispatch No. 263/ATTP-TTr dated January 30, 2015 requesting the Department of Health of provinces and cities to direct the Department of Food Safety and Hygiene, the Department of Health Inspectorate to coordinate with the market management force and the police to strengthen inspection and control of the trading of the above products in the area.
In case of detecting any business or advertisement of this product in the area, it is required to be strictly handled and publicly implemented in accordance with the provisions of law./.
