(Baonghean) - The Nghe An Newspaper, in its August 29, 2014 issue, published an article titled "Phuong Nam International Household Appliances Joint Stock Company: Exploiting the seminar to sell substandard goods?". On September 29, 2014, the Department of Industry and Trade issued Official Letter No. 1026/SCT-QLTM to investigate and handle the information mentioned in the newspaper, with the following content:

On August 10, 2014, Phuong Nam International Household Appliances Joint Stock Company sent Official Letter No. 136/TT-PN to the Nghe An Department of Industry and Trade requesting permission to organize a seminar on energy saving and environmental protection. In accordance with Article 118 of the 2005 Commercial Law, the Department of Industry and Trade issued Official Letter No. 838/SCT-QLTM on August 18, 2014, responding to the company regarding the organization of the seminar and product presentation.

Officials from Phuong Nam International Household Appliances Joint Stock Company distributed receipts and collected deposits for the purchase of "vacuum multi-functional" cooking pots in the Hung Phuc commune hall.

Following the information reported by Nghe An newspaper, on August 29, 2014, the Department of Industry and Trade directed the Department's Inspectorate and the Market Management Sub-Department.Authorities directly visited the locality where the company held the seminar to investigate and clarify the matter. Additionally, Official Letter No. 943/SCT-QLTM dated September 10, 2014, requested Phuong Nam International Household Appliances Joint Stock Company to cease organizing seminars and product presentations in Nghe An province, report on the program's implementation, and clarify the issues reflected in the press.

The Market Management Team No. 3 and the Department of Industry and Trade of Hung Nguyen District visited Hung Phuc and Hung Thinh communes to work directly with the local government leaders. At the time of the inspection, Phuong Nam International Household Appliances Joint Stock Company was no longer operating in Hung Nguyen District. Through discussions with the two communes, it was revealed that on August 27-28, 2014, Phuong Nam International Household Appliances Joint Stock Company rented the Hung Phuc and Hung Thinh commune cultural centers in Hung Nguyen District to hold a seminar and introduce its non-electric multi-purpose cooking pots. After the two-day product presentation, Phuong Nam International Household Appliances Joint Stock Company organized registration and purchase opportunities for interested individuals. Due to doubts about the quality and price of the company's vacuum cooking pots, residents in Hung Thinh commune returned almost all of their purchased products, while residents in Hung Phuc commune returned approximately 50% of their purchased products. Phuong Nam International Household Appliances Joint Stock Company also provided advice and guidance on how to use the products for customers who had purchased them.

To date, Phuong Nam International Household Appliances Joint Stock Company no longer organizes seminars and product presentations in Nghe An province.
